HMRC Launch Second Incomes Campaign

HMRC have launched another of their campaigns, this time to encourage people who have a job or pension  but who also have an undeclared self-employment alongside.

The HMRC Second Incomes Campaign provides an opportunity for employees (and pensioners) who have additional self- employed income that is not taxed through their employment or via Pay As You Earn (PAYE) to disclose any additional tax that may be due on the best possible terms for the taxpayer.

This could cover additional income such as:

• fees from consultancy or other services such as public speaking or providing training

• payment for organising parties and events or providing entertainment

• profits from catering

• income from activities such as taxi driving, hairdressing, providing fitness training or gardening

• profits from spare time activities such as making and selling craft items

• profits from buying and selling goods, for example regular trading on ebay, market stalls and car boot sales etc.

Contact us for more information – if you are considering making a disclosure and would like our help.
